Obsession: Ankle Strap

So I'm going to let you in on a little secret....ankle strapped heels are THE best. I've been obsessed with they style since I was a tot rummaging through my moms closet to find her black patent leather ankle strapped heels; I would pretend I was going somewhere fancy, the opera, a dance, shopping and the only heels suitable for the occasion were those ankle straps.

And just so you're clear, here's a few reasons why ankle straps just can't be beat...

  1. It's versatile - you can have an ankle strap wedge, pump, sandal, bootie et al
  2. Straps can be hidden to tone day your day look and exposed for evening
  3. I believe they make your legs, all shapes and all sizes look great - just adds a level of chic and class that can't happen with any other style outside of a pump or slingback (my other obsession)
  4. They work with almost any outfit, shorts, pants, skirts, dresses; they look well with tights and socks

Ok enough of that, you get the point. Check out some of my favs below....

Love these Gianvito Rossi Buckle Strap sandals. I'd rock these on the beach or at the club!

Sleek, chic and sophisticated these red patent leather Casadei's will spice up any outfit.

Chloe, Chloe, Chloe I can count on you for the rough, rugged and fierce all at the same damn time. I need these in my collection ASAP. Rain, snow or sunshine these leather ankle tie shoes will surely give you the case of happy feet!

My shoe designer crush, Sophia Webster hits the nail on the head every. single. time. Mama is definitely winning! I can close my eyes and see myself prancing down the street with these and some cute cutoffs and a white tshirt. aoww!

J'adore, J'adore, J'adore. Leave it up to, yup, Sophia again on her delicious shoe collaboration with J.Crew. I'm still on the hunt for these. Time to get on the phone with my crew connect.

Another shoe designer crush, Charlotte Olympia creates masterpieces full of detail and shape perfection. I'd rock these with a denim on denim look, just because I can.

Last, but most certainly not least, Tom Ford patent leather lock ankle straps. These look almost identical to my moms shoes from many moons ago. Need 'em. Want 'em. Gotta have 'em.

City Slickin: Hermes Autumn-Winter Preview

Hey lovas, so things are picking up and looking good for From The Bottom Up. I had the pleasure of attending a special preview of the 2014 Autumn-Winter shoe collection at Hermes Thursday evening - talk about stoked, mama purchased a new cute, chic and affordable I might add, outfit just for the occasion. The preview was hosted by none other than Harpers Bazaar Magazine

The collection was full of old world charm and lady like essence. Everything from art deco inspired heels to the infamous riding boot was on display. Because I'm different, I took my photos of the few I liked best from the funky window display.

Check 'em out...

Love the gold piping on these suede stacked heeled beauties - pops nicely against the skin.

Super cute kitten heel and love the integration of the unforgettable "H" as symbol.

The supple leather on these booties is just AHMAZING and the wine/bordeaux color is on trend for fall (check Monday's post).

Loved the tassel on these laces and surprisingly the stitched detail (which unfortunately you cannot see) on the base of the shoe - generally I despise stitching!

Life would not be complete with the perfect pair of riding boots and you just cannot lose with Hermes - at all! Love the latch style buckle, very chic.

And these dainty babes are my favs actually. The gold braided detail is stellar and just looking at these transported me in time to days of dancing all night long with feathered frocks, long strand pearls and cute shorty wavy hair cuts.

I hope you enjoyed what I've shared as much as I have enjoyed sharing and VIEWING this fabulous collection.

Until next time, heels up!

P.S. In case you were wondering what I wore....

Fall Shoe Color Must Have: Maroon

Hey Lovas,

So I'm switching it up a bit this week to feature the shoe color must have for fall. Fret not darlings, Magazine Monday will be back next week, for now. Now, this color has many different monikers and usually comes in a plethora of shades. We all own it and we all believe that each shade is very different. That color would be Maroon. Or Bordeaux. Or Wine. Or Red - yes essentially this color is just another iteration of red. See a few pair below that I'm lusting over and can't wait to add to my shoe collection.....

These riveting red Giuseppe Ankle Lace Up's will add spice to any outfit. I'd pair with a some boyfriend jeans, a white t-shirt, moto jacket for work or play.

You can never lose with Sergio Rossi. Classic, elegant and chic, but he never leaves you searching for flare. Add structure to any work look with these booties. I'd rock these with a flute bottom skirt, mandarin collar shirt and a leather clutch.

These remind me of being Catholic School somehow. There's something greatly demure, but still sexy about these pumps. I'd get my 'librarian' look on in a jiffy with those gold trimmed Chloe's.

I never thought I would dig the mule trend, but I can't get enough of it! These Gianvito Rossi's can be dressed up or down and go with pretty much anything. I'd rock a head-to-toe denim fit to switch it up a bit.

Valentino is sheer perfection. Playing right into my earlier point, that maroon, wine, bordeaux so on and so forth are all variants of red, the shoe maestro has created the perfect transition pump. Perfect height, perfect color, perfect detail will be sure to make the perfect outfit. Stove pipped pants, pussybow tie shirt and structured bag. Yes I can see it now....

As always happy shoepping.
