It's all GREY-vy Baby

Happy Monday lovas. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Its a new week and its time for new discoveries, new dreams, new goals and of course new shoes! Kicking-off this week, we're talking about the shoe color du jour of the season - Grey-vy baby!

Now, I am no stranger to Grey. In fact, its one of my favorite colors - its chic, its classic and most of all its timeless. So thanks fashion gods for finallllyyy giving this color its long due nod of respect, beyond clothes and bags!

I have yet to find my perfect pair, but on my quest, I've come across some great options. Help a sister out dolls. Here's a look at some of my top choices and how'd I'd rock it....

Work Chic or Sassy Saturday

Rock these gray Sergio Rossi booties available at Shoescribe ($840) for work or play with a pussybow tie blouse, boyfriend jeans, bucket bag, a two-finger ring to add some spice and a nude lip.

Grown and Sexy

Rock these Francesco Russo leather lace-ups (a whopping $1,795 - but you'd have them forever dolls) with a chic trench-dress be it leather for a super luxe feel or cotton add some stacked bangles ala Kelly Wearstler or grab a bunch from my fav, Bauble Bar; complete with a fierce vamp lip courtesy of Chanel and badaboom badabing baby. Oh and we're going bag free ladies, let your guy carry what you need in his pockets!

Le Freak C'est Chic

Add some punch to these classic gray Manolo Blahnik ($595) pumps with a colored pleated leather skirt (if you cannot find one, black will do), a turtleneck, chic rings on each hand and an all but amazing totebag - hey Mansur Gavriel isn't just making to-die for buckets, their entire collection is flawless. Oh and we're going fresh faced lovas.

Ciao~!

LAQUAN X A. WANG X FAV NYFW SS/15 COLLECTIONS!

NYFW 2014 was a sheer blast! I haven't enjoyed traipsing around my city so much in years. I had the pleasure of seeing a few shows in person like William Okpo and Naeem Khan. I went backstage at Tibi and I delved all the way into Laquan Smith's outstanding presentation.

And speaking of monsieur Laquan, lets jump right in - this entire collection makes me want to party. I had disco fever walking around the room at 91 Horatio Street. Laquan never disappoints. The collection was full of fun flirty dresses canvasing everything from classic lace wraps to two PVC see-thru numbers that were just simply divine and one of my favs.

The hooded crop tops will bring some pizazz to the now dated crop top look in my opinion and the clean lines for men - simply superb.

My all time favorite piece was this immaculately designed see-thru shirt with horizontal striped lines. I've been waiting for a reason to wear a boob-pasty and now my moment has come. There was so much goodness to chose from, but here's a sneak peak of the looks I admired most. Jouir....

Its that time again lovas and friends, the fabulous couple behind the eponymous label Ostwald Helgason* has teamed up once again with shoemaker Aldo on their Fall 2014 collection. We were graced with their modern, upbeat, architectural designs for the Spring 2014 collection - of which I missed! Total bummer. Not to make the same mistake twice, I've already filled my shopping bag with my top picks. The best thing about it, AFFORDABILITY and might I add, chic!

The shoe scene at New York Fashion Week is beyond! There was so much great footwear, mama forgot she had her camera around her neck to capture it all as I was just in awe. From embellished open-toe booties to a good ole pair of fuzzy wuzzy's I spotted it all.

And of course, the street style looks were at an all time high. Folks really stepped out this year, I haven't been inspired or felt shabby in a while! Time to step my game up.

Flip through the hit-list and get inspired.

FTBUP NYFW RECAP ROUND 1: RUTHIE DAVIS, WILLIAM OKPO AND TIBI

Hey lovas, its been a crazy, busy, high-drive week full of fun and fashion! FTBUP hit up a few shows and presentations and even got some behind-the-scenes beauty action at one of my fav labels, Tibi. Based on what I've laid my eyes on thus far, Spring 2015 is shaping up to be a season full of pastels (nothing new here), structure, and brights.

The beauty look is understated with statement eyes, neutral faces - seeming to be a carry over from Fall 2014 - and hair that pops (see my William Okpo images below).

In the shoe department I witnessed everything from neon-candy colored platforms at Ruthie Davis to Braided D'Orsay styled pumps at Alexander Wang (courtesy of fashion favorite, Nina Garcia's Instagram account).

Cheers to the first week. Indulge and check back for mid-week and final recap next week!

THURSDAY, 9/4 RUTHIE DAVIS SHOE PRESENTATION - THE HIGHLINE

Never one to disappoint, Ruthie Davis serves sex-kitten on a platter with this shoe collection lucite heels included!

FRIDAY, 9/5 - WILLIAM OKPO 268 MULBERRY STREET

The dynamic sister duo, Darlene and Lizzy Okpo, have yet to disappoint. This beautiful collection was full of pretty pastels, quaint details, subtle yet loud make up and plenty of clean, structured lines. Eponymously named after their father, and coveted by the ever so stylist Solange, every fashionista seeking to differentiate themselves in the crowd should be sure to pick-up a piece or two.

SATURDAY, 9/6 BEHIND-THE-SCENES @ TIBI  - HIGHLINE STUDIOS

The beauty looks behind-the-scenes at Tibi was understated and natural. Fresh, sleek skin, neutral color palette and straight pulled back hair read minimalism at its best. As soon as my hair grows back I'm definitely going to give the sharp look a shot. Hair: Aveda and Nails: Jin Soon
